Five Giants
The world today has serious problems we call these the five giants—five pervasive problems that affect billions of people.
- The first global giant is spiritual darkness—Billions of people do not know Jesus Christ.
- The second giant is Egocentric Leadership—Leaders who abuse their power.
- The third giant is poverty—More than half of the world lives on less than two dollars a day.
- The fourth giant is disease—Billions suffer the effects of curable and preventable diseases.
- The fifth giant is illiteracy—Over half the world can’t read.
P.E.A.C.E.
P.E.A.C.E. is the antidote to the 5 global giants; it is doing what Jesus did while He was here on Earth.
- Promote reconciliation
- Equip Servant leaders
- Assist the poor
- Care for the sick
- Educate the next generation
Distinctives
- P.E.A.C.E. is a church based, honoring the values and the unique role that only local congregations have in their communities.
- P.E.A.C.E. is a lay movement, mobilizing the members of churches around the world.
- P.E.A.C.E. links the public, private and faith sectors. We call these the “3 legs of the stool” – government & NGO’s, businesses, and local churches
- The P.E.A.C.E. Coalition is a network of networks.
- P.E.A.C.E. is a comprehensive, holistic strategy, which attacks all five problems because they are entwined.
- P.E.A.C.E. focuses on creating self-sustaining projects it fosters development not dependency, giving a hand up rather than a hand out.
