Richie started attending Port City Community Church of Wilmington, North Carolina in 2001 and joined the staff in 2003, becoming the Executive Pastor in 2005.
He brings management and leadership skills from the corporate world where he was an area sales manager. At the time he went into fulltime ministry, he had just received an area manager of the year award for developing and leading his sales team. Richie used his organizational skills along with a passion to help people walk with Christ to organize the small group structure of Port City Community Church. He oversaw the start up of an assimilation process and begin to lay the ground work for a coaching structure to help develop and train leaders. In 2005 he moved into executive pastor role for the church. This is where he has been able to continue to use his corporate experience to further the kingdom.
His first role was to up fit an old night club for the youth and college ministry. Next, he would oversee the loan and construction process for the 19 million dollar project that would be Port City’s first building.
Richie comes from Roanoke, Virginia nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and moved to Wilmington as a child in the early eighties. While attending high school he meet and dated his future wife, Robin. The two were married after graduation and had their beautiful daughter Hannah.
